Ricki Rizzo
Professional Jazz Vocalist
Ricki Rizzo is a jazz vocalist originally from Long Island, New York. During her high school years, Ricki attended the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival, earning recognition as an Outstanding Soloist. She also participated in the Long Island University Post Jazz Day in 2019, collaborating closely with various artists.
She is also a vocalist for J-Riz Entertainment & Productions, on Long Island, singing at weddings and other various events.
Ricki Rizzo currently holds a residency at the Helmway in the Pell Hotel, Middletown RI.
Notably, Ricki has showcased her vocal talents with the New London Big Band and headlined with her own Trio and Quartet at venues like the General Stanton Inn and Ou La La Cafe & Lounge this past spring. This summer, she opened for jazz saxophonist, Alexa Tarantino, at the 29th annual Litchfield Jazz Festival. Most recently, Ricki had the honor of performing at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival, for the second year in a row.
University of Rhode Island
Ricki is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music degree in jazz performance under the instruction of Professor Atla DeChamplain.
Engaged in various musical endeavors, Ricki is an active member of the University's Vocal Jazz Choir "In The Pocket," and Dave Zinno’s Standards Combo. Her musical journey also includes past involvement in the URI Big Band, URI Afro-Cuban Jazz Combo, Symphony Orchestra, and Concert Choir.
Ricki also has extensive experience playing violin and orchestral percussion for over 12 years.
